Company Thought-Leaders' Business Case for Flex:

Jason Graham-Nye
dad/ co-founder /CEO
Our flexible work environment has proven itself to be critical in maintaining a near zero attrition rate. The cost of replacing an employee is estimated at 1.5 X the annual salary of the employee. Avoiding this cost and the negative impact on team morale as well as the resources and time required to train a new employee is very important to running an efficient organization

Description:
gDiapers loves the Earth. For the last 40 years there have been but two choices in diapers. Cloth or disposable. That’s it. Now gDiapers offers a third option. 100% biodegradable*, flushable diapers. gDiapers puts waste where it belongs, in the toilet. Not the landfill. gDiapers have no elemental chlorine, no perfumes, no smell, no garbage and no guilt. In fact, our gRefills are so gentle on the Earth you can even garden compost the wet ones in one compost cycle, approximately 50 – 150 days. Just think of the standing ovation you’ll get from the planet.
Company Employees' Flex Options:

Kelli McKee, Consumer Relations Manager
” It's unrealistic and unwise for a company to not support family-friendly flexible scheduling. If it is supported, as it is with gDiapers, the efficiency is increased (to maximize time spent in-office) and personal fulfillment and home life is better balanced, making for a satisfied employee. Life changes, school hours are not the same as typical business hours. It's silly that so few have caught on to the need for synergy between the two. I've been able to be with my kids more than most families I know. Take vacations that leave me rested, not guilt-ridden. As my kids schedules change so can mine, meaning I don't have to rely on after-school care or schlepping my children from one place to the next in lieu of time with me. And I am more productive. I know my work hours need to be spent working to the best of my abilities so that I can keep this schedule. When our offices moved my commute got larger, so trimming my 5 day a week schedule down to 4 days in-office, one day at home, has reduced the amount of hours I spend in a car (as well as those for my kids since they come with me!). The benefits to my mental sanity, the kids, and the environment are so huge. Can you imagine the decrease in carbon emissions if all employees worked from home one day a week?”

Michelle Schnoor, Retail Brand and Consumer Marketing Director “I need/want flexible work options because my desire is to have a work/life balance. I have two young children and my work schedule needs to be flexible based on their schedule. My oldest son is in kindergarten this year and thanks to the flexibility gDiapers has offered, I am able to pick him up from school 3 days a week. I also need flexible work options due to the business travel I execute for the company. It has positively impacted my life, my husband's life, and my children's life so greatly that words cannot even describe. I cannot imagine being employed by any other employer during this phase in my life. My children benefit greatly from the fact they do not spend hours and hours, day after day, in someone else's care. And I benefit because I am not dealing with the guilt of working outside the home and pursing my professional goals. I feel like I truly can have the successful career and be a mom and wife, all at the same time.
