FLEX MATTERS- Hear Their Stories!!!
Flex-Friendly is telling the story of Flexible Work Options and Work/Life Balance happening around the country. We are launching today a series we are calling "Hear Their Stories" that will address Workplace Flexibility in large and small companies and across all sectors. We have some great companies involved in Flex-Friendly and they are sharing their stories with us so we want to share them with you. We are going to start our first blog speaking with Stroller Strides, LLC. We will be asking the same 5 questions week by week with the hope of sharing different perspectives on different companies and people. Our first discussion is with Stephanie Ramirez, National Marketing Director , Stroller Strides, LLC. Q: What kind of work do you currently do? I am responsible for selling national sponsorships and website advertising. I also manage all of our corporate social media affiliations and projects and our grassroots public relations efforts. Q: What is your current job tilte? My title is National Marketing Director Q: What kind of flexible scheduling are you currently using? Stroller Strides is based in San Diego, CA and I work remotely from my home in Knoxville, TN. I do primarily keep traditional office hours from my home office, but there is flexibility to change up my daily hours to accommodate my family's schedule. So I may work early, early morning hours or work on projects in the evening. Q: How have flexible work options impacted your life? Once my son was born I was torn between wanting to continue to have a fulfilling career yet be present as a mom. It's a delicate balance and you have to be organized, but I am managing and I love it. I am a much happier employee therefore I am a more productive employee. Subsequently, I am a happier mom and that has impacted my life in such a positive way. Q: Please feel free to share any other information about how you feel about your “flex working” Our company uses many telecommuting systems to ensure the productivity of its employees so I never wonder if my boss really "sees" what I am doing on a daily basis and consequently, she doesn't have to wonder either! Thank you Stephanie.
